Join Rev Gaenor for a short family friendly service

The 1st Sunday of each month St Greg’s church hosts a family tea service, there’s usually a little singing, it’s casual and low key and a chance for kids to mingle.

Wide World Heroes

Get ready for Wild World Heroes, arriving in your local library and online this summer.

We’re inviting children to join the Wild World Heroes for the Summer Reading Challenge and discover how they can make a difference to the environment too.

This year, the Reading Agency and libraries are teaming up with WWF for a very special nature-themed Challenge that will inspire children to stand up for the planet!

This reader development promotion is designed to encourage 4–12-year-olds to read for pleasure and to help maintain literacy levels over the summer holiday period and we’re delighted to be offering the traditional Challenge this year.

How the Wild World Heroes will work (The promotion will run 3 July – 11 September in Dorset Public Libraries and Community Managed Libraries)

·         Children join the Challenge at their local library or community managed library by filling in a registration card and collecting a foldout poster.

·         As the children read or listen to six books, they will be given stickers to complete their poster.

·         On reading six books and completing the Challenge the children will qualify for a medal which will be given to them in the library.  A personalised certificate will be sent to their school for presentation. We will despatch early October.

·         In addition, the Summer Reading Challenge website which is live all year will be given a makeover for the Challenge and offers a great range of information, useful links, activities and games to complement the Challenge www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk
