Our school is based on Christian principles and values
Our links to the Church are strong, we attend regular services at the church which is situated just next door.
Staff and children endeavour to live our lives underpinned by Christian values, staying happy and respectful to our whole community
Our SIAMS report
We are proud of our most recent SIAMS report which rates us as Good
“Children have a developing understanding of Christian values which they articulate with growing confidence, beginning to recognise the contribution these make to their lives and achievements”
Our school is one family
Such is the size of our school, staff are very familiar with all of the children, not just those that they teach day to day! This brings a real family feel to the whole school. Each and every child knows each member of staff
Our class sizes are not too large
Our teacher/pupil ratio is high, so children receive more one-to-one teaching time and a highly-personalised learning experience.
Working with other age groups
Mixed age classes mean children are encouraged to care for and support each other – a skill which they learn for life. Having different year groups learning and playing together creates a wonderfully positive environment for all.
Our staff
Our team is passionate, experienced and highly committed to providing the very best for our children. Most of our staff have been in post for many years and this brings with it an assured feel to the whole school.
The Village
Marnhull is a wonderful village, full of warmth towards the school. Our rural location lends itself to outdoor activities – see our thriving Forest School and our santa walk. We are very proud of our village and we hope we represent all that is great about Dorset.
Our Facilities
As mentioned, St Greg’s is situated in a lovely rural setting, we have a lush playing field with a wooden pirate ship to keep the children entertained. Our biggest features have to be the cinder running track which allows our children to take part in the daily mile each day, and of course our outdoor heated swimming pool. The pool is a huge asset, it enables us to get the youngest children learning to swim and our end of year Gala is always great fun.
Each of our classrooms have electronic whiteboards, these are an excellent learning tool keeping the children fully engaged. We have a beautifully painted library that allows some quiet space for our children to read and our ICT suite is also fully equipped.

Parents Testimonials
Zara Risley Mum of Three
Our son is in year 5 having started in Reception. We really couldn’t wish for more from a school.
We have seen our son really grow here into a happy and confident boy.
We are grateful for everything the staff do to create a safe and encouraging environment.
The swimming pool is a real bonus and all of the children there seem to absolutely love it.
The school has a lovely friendly feel to it and has strong links with the village itself which we really like.
Dan & Lucinda
I have 2 children currently at the school with my youngest set to join them in less than a year. We have all found St Greg’s to be a welcoming school with hard working staff and most importantly a nurturing style to their teaching.
The facilities are great, the outdoor pool is a huge asset and has helped my daughter improve her swimming.
It’s also worth noting that the school has an active PTFA so if parents do want to get involved in fund raising there’s a great set up that welcomes your help with open arms.
Barry Shea – Parent of 3 Children at St Greg’s
Our son started at St Gregory’s in 2011 and our daughter in 2016. I can honestly say they have been very happy there, well supported by the teaching staff and the school community as a whole.
It is a friendly and caring school which has given them a good value base and start to life. One our most amazing memories is of returning to school after Christmas to find their school hall had been turned into an ice skating rink, the sheer joy on the children’s (and adults) faces was something to behold!
Karen and Tom Maher
Both my children attend St Gregory’s and I honestly couldn’t wish for a better school for them.
It is a very friendly small village school where the head teacher knows the children by name and you really feels she cares for the children almost as much as you do.
For a small school the facilities and opportunities are fantastic, thanks in part to a pro active PTFA. The school really is part of the village community.
Having moved to Marnhull 4 years ago , the school has played a huge part in settling us in to village life.
