M12k A Brief History:
The Marnhull 12k was brought back to life in April 2016 by a couple of Dorset Doddlers and St Gregory’s School PTFA. The original race was held some years ago and we still follow most of the original route.
We are very proud of our race, all proceeds help fund St Gregory’s Primary School. You’ll see lots of people from the local community all helping deliver an enjoyable, safe experience for runners and supporters alike.
All proceeds from the day will go directly to the school, in the past the race has helped fund the swimming pool and other valuable resources. Your support makes a real difference to the children.
On this page you’ll find lots of information and updates will appear as and when we’ve got any news. Be sure to check the course in our video below.
We don’t want anyone leaving us without a full belly, you’ll have hog baps, bacon rolls, hotdogs, burgers or tea and cake to enjoy at the finish line.
Fancy yourself as quick? why not try and better our male and female course records noted below along with archive results.
Want to know if you are entered? click here to find out.
Above all, come and enjoy yourself, spring is a wonderful time to run and Marnhull looks great in the spring.

Without our sponsors the race you’ll enjoy just wouldn’t be the same. We’d like to take the opportunity to thank this years main sponsor Spar.
Tom Hawtree and the team at our local Spar are fervent supporters of the school, this year they’ll be supplying each of our runners with not only their race number and water at the finish line but financial assistance to help us stage a successful race.
The race will commence just near the shop so please fill up whilst you’re nearby.
Spar UK have been great supporters of British Athletics and have help bring communities together through sport so a natural fit with the M12k.
We are blessed to have so many local businesses helping our school through sponsoring the race, keep an eye out on race day for our KM sponsors:
Dorset Tech

Dorset Doddlers
Friars Moor

A race without prizes would be a bit mean, we’ll have plenty for our winning runners. Without the generous donation of prizes we’d not be able to raise as much money for the school as we’d wish. Thanks to our prize donors:

Thomas Fudge’s
Dorset Dairy Co.

The Route
Commencing on New Street in Marnhull before taking in Fifehead Magdalen and then returning to St Gregory’s School the M12k is best described as undulating.
A challenge for all abilities, there’s ups , downs and a bit of flat, the scenery shows North Dorset at it’s best with winding country lanes and some great views, particularly as you crest the climb atop Fifehead Magdalen.
Take a look at out course video for a better insight, this was shot during the colder months so please expect the course to be greener come April.
Unable to Run?
Swapping of numbers is encouraged but the race organiser should be made aware of the swap taking place. The runner retiring should contact the organiser to give the details of the runner taking over the entry. The new runner should then email/post a completed ENTRY FORM.
If you do not have somebody to give your place to, you can seek a refund for your entry or you may chose to donate your entry fee to the school. Refunds will no longer be available after the 20th March 2022.
Any transfer, refunds enquiries or other questions should be directed to ptfastgregs@gmail.com
Race Full?
