At St Gregory’s we believe that Personal, Social, Health Education and Citizenship is of vital importance. We teach Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning through our ‘Rainbow’ programme which equips the children with an understanding of how to deal with their feelings and the feelings of others. Our school motto of ‘Explore, Discover, Respect, Persevere, Achieve’, has at its centre the idea that we should respect ourselves, our environment and everyone else in the world.
As part of our PSHCE we are very proud to have achieved our Rights Respecting Schools Award Level 1 which acknowledges the work we have done so far to help everyone at St Gregory’s School understand Children’s Rights and to relate these to the life of the school. The children also understand that in some countries children’s Rights are not met, and have been active in campaigning about this.
We have a group of children chosen to be part of the School Council who play an active part in the running of the school.
We also have a fantastic Eco Team who help us recycle and have achieved their Silver Eco team award.
