Art & Design
We follow the new ART and Design National Curriculum at key stages 1 and 2 for art and design. We incorporate drawing, painting and sculpture in a variety of ways. We develop a range of techniques using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. We explore and compare a range of artists, designers and architects.
We follow the new Design and Technology National Curriculum at key stages 1 and 2, and we use the ‘Projects on a Page’ national scheme of work for DT. DT learning incorporates food, mechanisms, structures and textiles at key stages 1 and 2; in addition electrical systems is taught at key stage 2. The key learning that takes place in DT incorporates: prior learning, designing, making, evaluating and technical knowledge and understanding.
